Pakistan Humanitarian and development organization

Pakistan Humanitarian and development organization is a non-profit and independent organization. It is wholly dedicated to humanitarian services. Though PHDO was officially registered in 2003 as an NGO, it has an extensive record of public service since 2003. PHDO workers and volunteers continue to work tirelessly for providing relief to affected people throughout the district. Their dedicated services include Rescue & Relief, Rehabilitation and Development, Education, Healthcare, Community Services, and Care for Orphans.

Pakistan Humanitarian and Development Organization is working as an independent, non governmental, non-profit and charitable organization. It has no affiliation with any regional ethnic or political organization of Pakistan or anywhere in the world. PHDO is exclusively engaged and supports charitable activities and programs. It neither seeks political positions nor does it support any political causes or activities. Whatever financial supports, it provides to any other organization at home or abroad it is purely for charitable purposes, particularly supporting education, health-care and other related relief services. PHDO is dedicated to the service of humanity in all parts of the world without any discrimination of creed, religion and political association. PHDO established in 2002 and registered in 2003 with the Government of Pakistan as an NGO under the Social welfare ACT XXI of 1861.

Governance Structure

PHDO, registered under the social welfare Act, is mainly governed by seven members’ executive body and thirteen member of general body who from time to time evaluate the progress of organization and approve annual work plans of the organization. Executive body in PHDO is mainly comprised of experienced educationalists, social workers, and development activists from different levels. The Head of program selected by the executive body is mainly operational head of PHDO who supervise and gives guidelines to the heads of various sections of the organization. The various level projects and programs of PHDO under the relevant organizational sections have been implemented or being implemented in the Muzaffargarh. The program managers and coordinator mainly supervise and monitor the activities of their relevant project/program staff. The organizational structure of PHDO is developed on the basis of decentralized approach in which heads of various sections and project/program coordinators have been given administrative and financial powers and being monitored by organization internal level evaluation and monitoring section.

Regarding financial systems

Regarding financial systems, PHDO follows Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Accounting Standards. Special consideration is given to strengthen the internal controls including segregation of duties, authorization and approval of transactions. All financial transactions are duly authorized, verified and approved with supporting documents. At the end of each fiscal year, financial statements are audited by external auditors. PHDO has its detailed policies of HR including all associated sections to run the matters of organization smoothly.
